Poached Pears

2 (for 2 people) YELLOW pears, already a little soft
1.5 cups sugar
1 tsp Ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg, if desired

In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil (water should be about an inch from the top rim). Once water is boiling, pour in 1.5 cups of sugar until dissolved. Once sugar is dissolved, add cinnamon. Stir and let boil again for like 5 minutesWhile boiling, peel and core the pears. Cut each pear in halfTake a fork and stab the pears a few times all over, to let the juices flow through the pear better. Put the pears in the boiling water, continue to let simmer on medium for at least 20 minutes. When pears are soft, take them out and stick 2 halves in a bowl, one bowl for each person. Also put however much of the syrup you want over the pears.
