Indian Hot Mix

A kind of spicy chex mix that makes a great snack... can you handle it?

1 box Frosted Flakes/Honey Flakes Cereal
1 box Rice Chex or Corn Chex cereal
½ cup golden raisins
1 cup broken unsalted cashews
1 cup dry roasted unsalted peanuts
1 container potato straws (DO NOT FRY THIS LIKE THE REST)
½ cup lentils
4-6 sprigs of fresh or frozen curry leaves

Put both cereals in a large container and mix until combined. In a deep saucepan, heat enough oil to fry ingredients one at a time. Start frying raisins only, when puffed up, remove and throw into the cereal mix immediately. If more oil is needed in pan, add oil, heat well, and then add next ingredient, until all ingredients are done. After each ingredient, remove and add to cereal mixture, and toss together so all ingredients are well distributed in cereal mix. Add potato straws. Once all ingredients are added to cereal mix, add1/2 of  Spice Mix*, toss so it is all blended, then add the rest of the spice mix and toss again till blended. Cover and let rest for a day before eating.

Spice mix:*

2 tspns chili powder
1 tspn tumeric
1 tspn cumin powder
1 tspn Indian spice blend (garam masala)

Mix all powders together and set aside.
